Your child’s next party will be a piece of cake when you celebrate it at The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire! The museum now has several different birthday party options to suit your family's needs and schedule.

Private Birthday Rental Option­ 

Now you can choose to have the museum all to yourself and your guests with a Private Party Rental during times when the museum is closed to the public.

A private party rental package includes 2.5 hours of exclusive museum use for 20 children plus adult chaperones.  Private rentals are available on Mondays between the hours of 9 am ­and 6 pm, and on Thursdays from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Other times, such as Friday & Saturday nights or Sunday mornings, may be available upon request.

Standard Birthday Party Options:

The two standard party packages are the Basic and the Blowout.

The Basic Birthday includes:

  • Museum admission for up to 15 children and one adult chaperone per child guest.  (Minimum: 1 adult chaperone per five children.)
  • A museum staff person to set up your party table and assist with room clean-up
  • One hour private room rental
  • 90 minutes to explore the museum’s many interactive exhibits
  • A write-on paper table cover
  • A party favor for each child guest
  • Access to a refrigerator, sink and microwave

Birthday Parties 2The Birthday Blowout includes all the benefits of the Basic Birthday plus:

  • A delicious personalized quarter sheet cake from Harvey’s Bakery and candles
  • Juice and water for child guests
  • Colorful paper products
  • A re-usable souvenir museum cup for each child guest to use and take home

Standard Birthday Party Days and Times:

Standard birthday parties are held when the museum is open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year.

All parties begin with a one-hour private rental of our colorful classroom, followed by 90 minutes for you and your guests to enjoy the museum’s exhibits.  Parties can be scheduled to begin at 10:30 am (Saturdays only), 12:30 pm  or 2:30 pm.

Cost:

Basic Birthday – Weekday party: $185            Weekend party: $205

                        Child guests over 15 (max 25): $7 per child

                        Museum members receive $20 off all parties

 

Birthday Blowout – Weekday party: $235        Weekend party: $255

                        Child guests over 15 (max 25): $9 per child

                        Museum members receive $20 off all parties

 

How to Book A Party at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire:

You may call the museum during business hours (weekdays 9-5) at 603-742-2002 book your party. Please review all information and have your credit card ready for most efficient processing. Alternately, you can print our Birthday Party Request PDF form and submit the completed form via fax or mail with a $50 non-refundable deposit.  Please note, this is only a request form and you will be contacted if your chosen dates and times are not available.  Parties are popular and some dates may fill up months in advance. If you have any problem viewing this link, please call our office at 603-742-2002 during business hours and we would be happy to email, fax or mail you a copy of this form.

The remaining balance is due in full two weeks before your scheduled party date and may be paid by credit card, cash or check.

 

Party Favors:

In addition to a simple party favor that we provide for each child guest, you may also purchase Party Favor packages through our Museum Store at least one week in advance of your party. 

Basic party favors include a museum pencil, stickers, paper blowout and a small toy tied together with decorative ribbon for $2 each.

Deluxe party favors contain all of the above, as well as three other items based on your child’s age and interest for $5 each.  Museum members receive 10% off shop purchases.

Bringing In Outside Food and Drink:

Party hosts are welcome to bring outside food and drink into the classroom for the first hour of their event.  Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.  We also ask that no nut products are served during parties in consideration of those visitors with nut allergies.

 

After-Hours Private Rental:

Would you like the entire museum to yourselves for a special function?  Then a private after-hours party may be the right choice for you!

This includes:

  • 2 1/2 hours private use of the museum and all its exhibits
  • use of a classroom space to serve food and drink
  • staff assistance with set-up, clean-up and facilitating your function
  • a simple hands-on art activity set up in our Project Area
  • admission for up to 40 guests, including adults
  • a museum staff member to greet your guests at the door and monitor the museum entrance

Cost:        $550 museum family members

                $600 non-members

                Value: $715

                Additional fees: $6 per additional guest (50 people max)

                                        $100 per additional half-hour

You are welcome to bring your own food, drink and paper products.  No alcohol can be served.
