Lightening

Monday Junior Science Class: Wild Weather

Mondays, March 9 - April 13, 1:30-2:15pm 

This spring, junior scientists, ages 3.5-5, will learn about wild weather – thunderstorms, heatwaves, and blizzards – oh my! Explore these weather phenomenons with hands-on science experiments, open ended crafts and more.

MEMBER PERK: The museum exhibits are closed on Mondays, but smaller siblings and parents who are museum members will have access to the Primary Place exhibit to play while class is in session (45 minutes) Please note that the first floor exhibits will be closed during this time. These classes run for 6 weeks. 

Classes are $70 for Members, $80 for Non-members, with a $5 discount for multiple children (use discount code JRSCIFIVE). 

WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY: Our Early Learning classes will NOT be held if Dover public schools are closed or have a delayed opening. Please check our Facebook page, WMUR-TV, WOKQ-FM, WERZ-FM or WTSN-AM for school closing information before leaving for the museum on inclement weather days.

REFUNDS: We do not offer refunds on camps or classes unless we are able to fill the spot taken up by your child(ren).

2020 Summer Camps at CMNH!

The Children's Museum of NH offers summer camps for three different age groups – Mini Camps for children ages 4-5, Discovery Camps for ages 6-7, and an all day summer camp for ages 7-9 in August. Camp size is limited to 12 students per program.

Registration will close one week before each camp begins.

3-Day STEAM Discovery Camps for Ages 6-7

Tuesdays–Thursdays, 9am–12pm
Fee: $110/camp for Members & $125/camp for Non-members

STEAM Discovery Day Camps offer hands-on activities and projects related to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) topics. Each day starts with play time in the museum, followed by activities in the STEAM Innovation Lab, and time to play games outside in the park. Activities include science experiments, art projects, building activities, sculpture, games, and team-building! Campers bring along water & a snack for this half day camp from 9am-noon. 

Please note that registration will close one week before each camp begins.

3-day Summer STEAM Discovery Camp: NATURE'S BUILDERS

Tuesday, July 14 - Thursday, July 16, 9am-noon

This summer, campers ages 6-7 can learn all about the amazing builders of the natural world. From beavers to spiders to osprey, campers will learn all about these fascinating creatures, and put their own engineering skills to the test with STEM building challenges and art projects. Build, create, and get your hands dirty at camp this summer!

3-day Summer STEAM Discovery Camp: SCIENCE EXPLORERS

Tuesday, August 4 - Thursday, August 6, 9am-noon

This summer, makers and scientists ages 6-7 will try out amazing science experiments and interesting art projects. From mysterious mixtures to funky sculptures this is a great place to get messy and creative, learn through science exploration, and take home some really cool projects! Join us for science explorers camp, and learn something new!

3-Day Mini Camps for Ages 4-5

Tuesdays–Thursdays, 9am-Noon
Fee: $110/mini-camp for Members & $125mini-camp for Non-members
Mini Camps offer hands on science activities and art projects for children ages 4 & 5 (participating children need to be able to use the bathroom independently). This half-day program starts with play time in the museums and includes science experiments, building activities, art projects, and more. Enjoy bubbles and chalk art outdoor play time (weather permitting), and take home cute creations each day! Campers pack a water bottle and snack for this half-day camp from 9am-noon.

Campers ages 4-5 will learn about the many local creatures that live all around us. Find out how they have adapted to survive in our area. Campers will learn about several NH creatures as they engage in creative hands-on creating and learning each day!

3-Day Summer Mini Camp: Ooey Gooey Science Art

This summer, mini campers ages 4-5 will have a blast exploring science in the most ooey gooey way imaginable! Campers will explore science and art through messy experiments, creative crafts, incredible art projects, and more!

3-Day Summer Mini Camp: AMAZING ART

Tuesday, July 28 - Thursday, July 30, 9am-Noon

This camp is designed to encourage the artist that exists within each camper! Using a variety of materials, each child, ages 4-5, will engage in the process of creating sculptures, wearable art, and much more. Campers will explore their creative potential and go home with some fabulous works of art! End the session with a mini art show for all to attend!

3-Day Summer Mini Camp: STORYBOOK STEAM

Tuesday, August 4 - Thursday, August 6, 9am-Noon

Even our youngest visitors (ages 4 & 5) can explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Do you have a young scientist at home who also loves books? This is the perfect camp! We'll read wonderful picture books and then do experiments, activities, and crafts that match. Topics will range from underwater creatures to colors to transportation and beyond.

5-day All Day Summer Camp for Ages 7-9 

STEAM - SCIENCE & ART

Monday, August 17 - Friday, August 21, 9am-4pm
Fee: $420/Members, $490/Non-members

This all day camp offers hands-on activities and projects related to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) topics for kids ages 7-9. Each day starts with play time in the museum, followed by creative hands-on activities led by the museum's education team, and time to play games outside in the park. Activities include science experiments, art projects, building activities, and games. Campers will learn about states of matter, physics of flight, New Hampshire animals, engineering, and more!

Plan for outdoor time as well as classroom time as campers will play outside every day. We love to be active and get messy, and suggest sending campers in play clothes and comfortable shoes. Campers should bring along water, two snacks, lunch and a change of clothes & towel (in case they get wet in the outdoor splash pad) to this full day camp from 9am-4pm.
