If you are looking for a class or camp, the Children's Museum of New Hampshire has a lot to offer a wide range of ages. You can choose from:

Science Friday Summer Workshops

These special workshops are for kids ages 6-11, and are based on some of our most popular school group lessons! Kids can enjoy a 45-minute lesson led by a museum educator, followed by free time to explore the museum with parents. Workshops are $8 per child and families get in at a discounted rate of $6 per person (for Non-members: Members get in free to play) to explore the museum during the lesson. Please note that anyone who stays for free time in the museum must be supervised by a grown-up. 

Pre-registration is required and sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis.

RIVER BUILDERS

Today's River Builders workshop will lead kids in discovering the many creatures that build along and within the river. Students will learn about the variety of materials used to build these creations, and how the river ecosystem supports these unique builders.

Friday, June 29, 1:30-4pm
PHYSICS OF FLIGHT

Today's Physics of Flight workshop will lead kids in exploring flying objects and discovering what makes them work. Kids will learn about items from nature that fly and relate them to flying machines. Each student will engineer and create their own flying object to test and re-test in the Build-It, Fly-It exhibit.

Kindergarten Club

Fridays, July 13 – August 24, 10-11:30am

Do you have a little one heading to Kindergarten this fall? Kindergarten Club aims to help prepare, excite, and calm children heading into a Kindergarten classroom for the first time – from the comfort of the museum! We will explore and reinforce common classroom manners (sitting on a rug, walking in a line, raising hands), create crafts, play games, sing songs, read stories, and more! There will be no club on Friday, August 3 (come to our Teddy Bear Clinic instead)! Cost is $120 for members, $140 for non-members. Parents do not stay for this program. Kids get dropped off.

The Children's Museum of NH offers summer camps for two different age groups – for children ages 4-6 and 7-11. Camp size is limited to 12 students per program.

Registration will close one week before each camp begins.

Discovery Camps

4-Day Camps for ages 7-11

Mondays–Thursdays, 9:15am–1pm
Fee: $150/camp for Members & $170/camp for Non-members

Our Discovery Camps are for kids ages 7-11. These camps focus on bringing art and science right to kids’ fingertips, and explore a wide variety of topics with hands-on STEAM activities and exploration. Kids will eat lunch during this camp. Choose between the following camps:


Summer 4-Day Discovery Camp: CHASING DINOSAURS

Monday, July 23 - Thursday, July 269:15am-1pm

Learn all about dinosaurs in our Dino day camp! Kids ages 7-11 will be investigating links between dinosaurs and modern day birds through hands-on science activities. Dig for fossils, make a dinosaur bone, and enjoy dinosaur games and crafts! This is the perfect camp for curious dinosaur lovers.

Summer 4-Day Discovery Camp: S.T.E.A.M. SCIENCE AND ART

Monday, August 6 - Thursday, August 9, 9:15am-1pm

From messy mixtures to slimy sculptures, it’s science and art STEAM day camp! Kids ages 7-11 will make some beautiful works of art and learn through hands-on science experiments each day. The camp will culminate with a mini-science and art fair on Thursday.

Summer 4-Day Discovery Camp: TINKERERS, MAKERS AND ENGINEERS

Monday, August 13 - Thursday, August 16, 9:15am-1pm

Do you have kids, ages 7-11, who love to design? Do they love creative problem solving and building stuff? Do they love getting just a little bit messy? Join us for a week of tinkering, making, and engineering! Each day will have a different theme, and will include engineering challenges, projects to take home, and hands-on science lessons.

Mini Camps

3-Day Mini Camps for Ages 4-6

Tuesdays–Thursdays, 9:15am-Noon
Fee: $90/mini-camp for Members & $100/mini-camp for Non-members
This is a great first summer camp experience for children ages 4-6. Each mini-camp features exclusive time interacting with museum exhibits, hands on activities, crafts, stories and a snack. Children must be 4 years old on the first day of camp and be able to use the bathroom independently. Each mini-camp focuses on hands-on, interactive learning.

3-Day Summer Mini-Camp: WEE ONES SUMMER EDITION

Tuesday, June 26 - Thursday, June 28, 9:15am-Noon

Campers ages 4-6 will enjoy some of our favorite aspects of our popular weekly PRE pre-k program - Wee Ones! Enjoy singing, movement, circle time and hands-on activities. We will also explore music, art and animal science.

FULL - 3-Day Summer Mini Camp: INCREDIBLE ANIMALS

Tuesday, July 24 - Thursday, July 26, 9:15am-Noon

Campers, ages 4-6, will explore habitats, animal tracks, survival techniques and more! Kids will do science-inspired art projects and lots of fun experiments. Start thinking like an animal and crawl, run, or hop on over to camp!


FULL - 3-Day Summer Mini Camp: YES, YOU ARE AN ARTIST

Tuesday, August 7 - Thursday, August 9, 9:15am-Noon

This camp is designed to encourage the artist that exists within each camper! Using a variety of materials, each child, ages 4-6, will engage in the process of creating sculptures, wearable art, and much more! Campers will explore their creative potential and go home with some fabulous works of art. End the camp with a mini art show for all to attend.


FULL - 3-Day Summer Mini Camp: STORYBOOK S.T.E.A.M.

Tuesday, August 14 - Thursday, August 16, 9:15am-Noon

Even our youngest visitors can explore S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math). Do you have a young scientist, ages 4-6, at home that also loves books? This is the perfect camp! We’ll read wonderful picture books and then do experiments, activities, and crafts that match. We’ll explore topics from “Things That Go” to weather, to the stars! 


3-Day Summer Junior Science Mini Camp: SCIENCE ART

Tuesday, August 21 - Thursday, August 23, 9:15am-Noon

Junior Scientists, ages 4-6, will dive into the world of science through art in this messy and fun camp! We’ll learn - and understand - fancy scientific words, explore open-ended crafts, read stories and, of course, get our hands dirty doing foamy, fizzy, bubbly experiments.

Eureka! The Inventors Camp
July 30-August 3, 2018, 9am-3pm

The Children's Museum is excited to partner with Mad Science of Maine to unleash your child's inner scientist by offering an exciting week of innovative and creative STEM enrichment for ages 6-12. Mad Science Camps give children an opportunity to explore their world and discover how science affects the world around them. A unique combination of hands-on discovery, outdoor learning games, inquiry-based techniques, and correlated take-home projects make these camps enriching and explosively fun! LEtGO Your Mind Summer Camps

The Children's Museum of New Hampshire is proud to be partnering again with LEtGO Your Mind to offer several week-long day camps for ages 6-9 or 9-14 hosted at the museum and run by this great LEGO and Robotics STEM organization. Registration for these camps are handled through LEtGO Your Mind. Cost is $315 per student, but use the code CMNH to get $25 off per student.


Super Hero Master Builders and Stop Motion Animation
FOR AGES 6-9

July 9-13, 9am-3pm

Become a master superhero builder as we create LEGO vehicles, structures and machines that will help defeat the arch enemy villains. Using STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) principles students will engineer ways to protect themselves by constructing super hero cars, magnet levitation trains, magnetic cranes, and more! Students will use gears and motors to learn about mechanical devices such as levers, magnets, wheel and axles. Help save the day from the arch enemy villains.

In the afternoon, students will build their own mini movie set and create an animated movie using LEGO mini figures and other objects. The students will also learn how to edit their movies and add titles/credits using Professional Stop Animation software.

Cost is $315 per student, but use the code CMNH to get $25 off per student.

EV3 Battle Bots with Super Heroes, Villains and Stop Animation/Minecraft
FOR AGES 9-14

July 9-13, 9am-3pm

Come and join us as we build Super Hero bots that can defeat the arch villain. In this class students will learn how gears can create awesome speed and power. We will create bots that will engage in tug of wars, battle villain bots and pull fifty pounds!
Children will apply the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) principles and build several versions of EV3 robots and battle villain bots. The students will learn to examine situations and calculate various solutions to discover ways to solve these missions. They will learn C-based programming and use problem-solving skills to help the robots solve the different challenges. Students will use mine craft to build super hero lairs that are filled with traps and defenses to protect them from arch evil villains. They will learn how to use Command Blocks/Redstone to create traps and other defenses.

In the afternoon, students will build their own mini movie set and create an animated movie using LEGO mini figures and other objects. The students will also learn how to edit their movies and add music, narration and titles using Professional Stop Animation software.

Cost is $315 per student, but use the code CMNH to get $25 off per student.
