February STEAM Lab theme: Making Art with Science

The STEAM Innovation Lab is now open Wednesdays through Saturdays 1-4pm with fun drop-in activities that are all FREE with admission!

Wednesday, February 1: Rainbow Paper
Come into the STEAM Lab to learn how you can turn an ordinary black piece of paper into a rainbow! Then you can see what happens when you put it into different kinds of light.

Thursday, February 2: Lemon Volcano
Come to the STEAM Lab to become a scientist for the day. Learn how a lemon can become a color changing volcano.

Friday, February 3: Salt Watercolor
Come to the STEAM Lab and become a salt artist. Learn what happens when you mix glue, salt and watercolors. You could even walk out with a fun salt artwork to hang on the fridge!

Saturday, February 4: Thaumatropes
Come to the STEAM Lab to learn how to make a simple and interactive toy that will have your eyes playing tricks on you.

Wednesday, February 8: Chromatography Flower
Come to the STEAM Lab and learn how to make a flower out of coffee filters and pipe cleaners. You will also find out if markers are made up of just one or multiple colors.

Thursday, February 9: Slime
Come to the STEAM Lab to make some fun slime. We'll learn how to make slime and what happens when you put different kinds of materials into it.

Friday, Februrary 10: Bubble Prints
Come into the STEAM Lab to make your very own bubble print. Learn why bubbles happen and how you can make art with it. We'll even see who can make the biggest bubble mountain to make their print.

Saturday, February 11: Abstract Art
Come to the STEAM Lab to make your own abstract art. Learn how to use pipettes and how different kinds of droplets can change how you see your artwork.
