Self-Guided Visits

Group Visits are available for school groups, homeschoolers, after-school programs + camps!

Bring a world of hands-on learning and discovery to your students at The Children's Museum of New Hampshire. We've expanded in size, scope and the age range of students served. Curriculum connections abound through dynamic explorations in science, math, world cultures, the arts and New Hampshire history and ecology.

There are two options for your Self-Guided Group Visit:

School-Year (September - June): These 2-hour Self-Guided Group Visits can be scheduled for groups between 12 and 100 children and their adult chaperones Tuesdays through Fridays.

Summer (June - August): These 1.5-hour Self-Guided Group Visits can be scheduled for groups between 12 and 100 children and their adult chaperones Mondays through Fridays.

AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER - JUNE

Required:
Self-Guided Group Visits MUST be scheduled in advance.

Group Size:
School Year Self-Guided Group Visits can be scheduled for groups between 12 and 100 children and their adult chaperones. Groups of over 100 children are encouraged to book a Private Children's Museum of New Hampshire Visit on Mondays. Please contact the Children's Museum of New Hampshire at 603-742-2002 for additional information about booking a Private Self-Guided Group Visit.

Program Times:
School Year Self-Guided Group Visits last for two hours and are offered Tuesday – Friday.

Cost:
The fee for a School Year Self-Guided Group Visit is $6 per person with a $25 deposit. One chaperone per five children is admitted free; additional chaperones pay the Self-Guided Group Visit rate of $6.

Chaperones:
To ensure an enjoyable experience for all visitors, the museum requires a minimum ratio of one chaperone for every five children. Chaperones must be at least 18 years of age and must supervise their assigned group of children at all times.

Eating Arrangements:
Food and beverages are not permitted within the Children's Museum of New Hampshire exhibit area. Groups can schedule time to have a snack or bag lunch in our classroom space. These arrangements must be made in advance and are subject to availability. During the warmer weather months, groups are also welcome to bring bag lunches to eat at the outdoor picnic tables or amphitheater in Henry Law Park before or after their scheduled time in the museum.

Accessibility:
The Children's museum of New Hampshire is equipped with both an elevator and ramp access between the two floors of exhibits. The Children's Museum of New Hampshire also has accessible bathrooms, parking and a designated drop-off zone for visitors with disabilities. To schedule a School Year Self-Guided Group Visit, please call the Children's Museum of New Hampshire at 603-742-2002.

Cancellations:
If you need to cancel your School Year Self-Guided Group Visit, please do so at least two weeks in advance. We will make every effort to reschedule Group Visits that are cancelled due to poor weather conditions. The Children's Museum of New Hampshire does not provide refunds, but will issue a credit toward a future Self-Guided Group Visit for any overages paid.

AVAILABLE JUNE - AUGUST

Group Size:
Summer Self-Guided Group Visits must be scheduled in advance. Summer Self-Guided Group Visits can be scheduled for groups from 12 - 100 people. Groups of over 100 children are encouraged to visit the Museum in smaller groups of 50 children or less on preferred Tuesday or Thursday afternoons.

Program Times:
Summer Self-Guided Group Visits last for 1.5 hours and are offered Monday - Friday.

Cost:
The fee for a Summer Self-Guided Group Visit is $6 per person with a nonrefundable $25 deposit. One chaperone per five children is admitted free; additional chaperones pay the Summer Self-Guided Group Visit rate of $6.

Please note that space to eat in the Children's Museum of New Hampshire is not available for Summer Self-Guided Group Visits.
